This policy explains how InstaBGC ("InstaBGC") handles information about you and about the person you ask us to verify, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
About you: your mobile number (used to log in), your name and the city you're hiring in.
About the person being verified: their name, father's or husband's name, date of birth, mobile number, ID type and number, current address, and — for drivers and care roles — their driving licence or professional registration number. We also keep a record of their consent response, including how they gave it (for example, a tap on the WhatsApp message).
Payment information: when you pay, Razorpay processes your payment. We receive only the transaction reference and status — never your card, UPI or bank account details.
Technical information: a login session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We use this information only to log you in, request consent from the candidate, run the checks included for the role you chose, take payment, deliver your report, and handle support requests.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build marketing profiles.
We request explicit consent from the candidate before any check begins, in plain language. No check proceeds without their approval, and they can decline. See our Consent page for exactly what's asked.
Only with the service providers needed to run your order: identity, court-record and police-record data sources to perform the checks; Razorpay to process payments; and messaging providers to send OTPs and consent requests. Each receives only what it needs for that purpose.
We may also disclose information where required by law or a lawful request from a government authority.
Only the homeowner who requested the verification can view the completed report. The candidate can contact us to see what information was requested about them, but does not see your account or the report contents.
Information is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access is limited to people who need it to run your verification, and ID numbers are masked wherever the full number isn't required.
We keep verification details and reports for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service and handle support requests, and consent and payment records for as long as the law requires. After that, they are deleted from active systems.
If a candidate declines consent or never responds, there's no reason left to hold their details — that information is redacted within 30 days, well before the retention period that applies to a completed verification.
You — and the person being verified — can ask to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent for future processing, and raise a grievance. A candidate who withdraws consent before checks begin stops the verification.
